Items needed for delivery of the LMCO CAN shelf:[edit | edit source]

Initial Delivery Feb 28[edit | edit source]

Controller Hardware[edit | edit source]

  • Linux Board configured for 24V, DC input ( PoE+ )
  • VR CAN interface (with terminators, ribbon cabling, etc.)

Shelf Hardware[edit | edit source]

  • 12 x M5e Shelf Units incl.
    • M5e w/ Heatsink
    • UHFM5e CAN controller
    • Mux w/ SMA connectors
  • 12 8-panel antennas incl.
    • 2 panels w/ cans & SMA connections
  • 96 SMA -> SMA cables for antennas (of different lengths)

total: 12 CAN controllers, 24 antenna panels, 96 can antennas

Software[edit | edit source]

  • #55 VRReader minimal image, no GSM (headless)
  • vrcanreader software with existing tag posting interface
    • improvements to the CAN interface handling - use ioctl? ip link? interface to startup/shutdown
    • add bus power control to be able to reset the entire bus
  • #59 web configuration interface to vNext, not for this release

Other Open Tickets:

  • #56 move CAN interface to forkliftreader software, to take advantage of the bug fixes, tag table improvements, etc.
  • #57 implement all CAN features incl. new options for target and session.
  • #58 antenna partitioning software to deliver different locations by antenna (configurable)
