Prerequisites[edit | edit source]
Tablet Unboxing[edit | edit source]
- Unbox new tablet and check for damage.
- Hold down volume up and volume down, and push the power button. This should put the tablet into bootloader.
- Record tablet serial number (from SERIAL NUMBER: XXXXXXXXXXX line) on QA sheet.
- Connect the tablet to the computer through micro USB.
- Open cmd command prompt.
> cd \android > nexus-10-initial.bat
- Follow onscreen instructions for unlock, use the volume up and volume down keys to select the option.
- Wait approximately 4 minutes for the device to be flashed.
- When the script is done flashing, the device will boot and this will show in the cmd prompt window:
rebooting...
finished. total time: 152.267s ============================================================ Done... continue with next step: ** Provisioning Android ** ============================================================
- Now continue with Provisioning after the device boots up.
Provisioning Android[edit | edit source]
Wait for tablet to boot up to welcome screen (can take 2-3 minutes).
- Welcome screen: choose 'English'
- Bring up on VR-Burnout (password: 12345678) or vrtest (password: 02910291FF) network
- Got Google? select 'No'
- Get a Google Account? 'Not Now'
- Location Settings? Deselect Both Check Boxes
- User Name: First Name: 'SC' Last Name: 'Express'
- Google Services: Hit Next
- Setup complete: Hit Finish
Enable Developer Mode / USB Debugging[edit | edit source]
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down until you see About Tablet
- Tap 7 times on the Build Number until you get a message on the tablet that says You are now a developer!
- Go back to the Settings screen.
- Tap Developer Options.
- Tap USB Debugging to select it.
- Click OK to confirm the USB debugging.
- Wait a second or two to have the device come up on USB.
- Make sure that you check the 'Always allow' box, then select Yes, allow this PC on the tablet when the prompt comes up.
Rooting[edit | edit source]
- Open cmd command prompt.
> cd \android > nexus-10-root.bat
- Wait for script to finish, it should reboot back into Android after rooting.

App Loading[edit | edit source]
SuperSU settings[edit | edit source]
- On the tablet, open the apps folder and start “SuperSU”.
- If asked to “Follow me”, click “No thanks”.
- SuperSU has a setting that should not be checked. Uncheck this.
- Under Default access, change [Prompt] to [Grant]. See image for both settings:
- If you are prompted to update binaries, click “Yes”.
Busybox installation[edit | edit source]
- On the tablet, open the apps folder and start “Busybox Free”.
- Hit “Grant” to the SuperUser? request dialog.
- Close the “Welcome to Busybox” screen.
- Make sure the version of Busybox to install is 1.22.1.
- Hit Install.
- It looks like the installation of BusyBox? was successful! Congratulations!
App Load script[edit | edit source]
- Make sure the tablet is still connected using Micro USB.
- Open cmd command prompt. Watch Tablet Screen while loading to say Yes to any prompts.
> cd \android > nexus-10-app-load.bat
- Wait approximately 30 seconds for the applications to load.
- At the end of the process, make sure you hit Grant on the adb shell window!!!
- Write down the IP address shown on the screen at the end and place on a sticky note on the screen. This is used in final provisioning.
- Now the tablet can be put inside the enclosure and is ready for the firstrun script.
Plugging in the tablet to the base[edit | edit source]
- Match up the base with the tablet, marked on the config sheet.
- Plug in the micro usb plug to the tablet and make sure to check 'Use by default for this device' on the screen that pops up, then hit 'OK'.

Combine the Base and Tablet[edit | edit source]
Match the tablet with a base in order to record the LAN MAC Address when asked during the Firstrun script.
Firstrun script =[edit | edit source]
- Open cmd command prompt.
> cd \android > nexus-10-lt-firstrun.bat
> reinstall.bat
- Answer questions.
- Collect sticker (for attaching later.)
Ready for Testing[edit | edit source]

Troubleshooting[edit | edit source]
- If you get lots of errors like
error: more than one device and emulator error: more than one device and emulator
Then run
adb disconnect
and unplug and plug in any USB devices. Also, to check for multiple devices, run
> adb devices List of devices attached R32D400BWBP device < connected via USB 10.16.244.29:5555 offline < connected via Ethernet/WiFi
